He was born December 13, 1886 in Falcon, Magoffin County, Kentucky, died May 11, 1972 in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio, and is buried in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg, Scioto County, Ohio.

When Watt Caudill's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer in Falcon, Magoffin County, that he was married and had 2 children, and that he was born December 13, 1886 in Falcon, Kentucky. He was found to tall and stout, and he had blue eyes and light-colored hair.

When Watt's World War II draft registration card was filled out on April 27, 1942 in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio, he stated that he was working for Wheeling Steel Corporation in New Boston, Ohio, that the person who would always know his name was Mrs. Julia Caudill of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, and that he was born December 13, 1886 in Falcon, Kentucky. He was found to be 6 feet tall, he weighed 240 pounds, and he had blue eyes, brown and gray hair, a light complexion, and a scar on the left side of his neck.

Information found on findagrave.com shows that Julia and Watson Caudill were both buried in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg, Scioto County, Ohio. No headstone photos are provided.

"Mrs. Julia May Caudill, 66, of Cartro road Franklin Furnace Rt. 1, died at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at Mercy Hospital, where she had been a patient for six days.

"She was born in Salyersville, Ky., a daughter of Benjamin Lewis and Susan LeMaster Caudill, and had lived in Scioto County 39 years.

"Surviving are her husband, Watt Caudill; two daughters, Mrs. Irma Powers of Mash Fork, Ky, and Mrs. Melva Humphrey of Franklin Furnace Rt 1: four sons, Irelan and Verlin both of Willoughby Ohio, Emil of Center St., Wheelersburg and James Edsel of Campbell, Calif., two brothers, Chester Caudill of Wakefield and Charles Caudill of Portsmouth Rt 5, a sister, Mrs. Ruby Powers of Falcon, Ky., and 10 grandchildren.

"Mrs. Caudill was a member of United Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents.

"Funeral services will be conducted at Pine Creek Freewill Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Friday with burial following in Memorial Burial Park under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home. Friends may call at the residence on Franklin Furnace Rt. 1 after 6 tonight."

AMANDA ELLEN COLLINS, daughter of PHOEBE RATLIFF and ALLEN COLLINS, was born September 11, 1858 in Johnson County, Kentucky, died November 2, 1936 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in the family cemetery in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky. She married JAMES WAYMAN LEMASTER, son of JOSEPH ELI LEMASTER and LYDIA MARGARET TACKETT, May 7, 1878 in Magoffin County, Kentucky. He was born May 2, 1860 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, died April 16, 1949 in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in the family cemetery in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky.

Notes: James Wayman Lemaster was the brother of Columbus P. Lemaster, Missouri Ellen Lemaster, Ambrose S. Lemaster, Turtle Dove Lemaster, Samuel Lemaster, and William O. Bradley Lemaster.

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Amanda E. Collins married James W. Lemaster on May 7, 1878 in Magoffin County at the home of Allen Collins. The witnesses were Hamilton Price and William Gullett, and the minister was C. C. Crace.

According to her death certificate, Amanda E. Collins Lemaster died in November 2, 1936 in Paintsville from chronic nephritis with a contributory cause of typhoid fever. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Kentucky, her birth date as September 11, 1858, her marital status as married, her husband as J. W. Lemaster, her parents as Allen Collins (b. Kentucky) and Phoebe Ratliff (b. Kentucky), the informant as J. W. Lemaster of Oil Springs, Kentucky, and the burial place as Oil Springs.

According to her obituary, Amanda E. Lemaster (age 78), wife of James W. Lemaster, died November 2, 1936 in a local Johnson County hospital from complications due to advanced age, and was buried in the family cemetery at her home in Oil Springs. Besides her husband, she was survived by a number of children and a large number of relatives in Johnson and Magoffin Counties. Collins [mistake] Lemaster and a retired farmer, was born May 2, 1860 in Magoffin County, died April 16, 1949 at home in Oil Springs after an illness of 2 months, and was buried in the family cemetery. He was survived by 2 sons, Proctor Lemaster (of Oil Springs) and Lundy Lemaster (Piketown, Ohio); 5 daughters, Mrs. B. I. Wheeler (Columbus, Ohio), Mrs. Oscar Wheeler (Wheelersburg, Kentucky); Mrs. Malcom Crace (Wadeville, Ohio), Mrs. W. R. Peter Hunley married (2) LAURA (unknown last name).

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Jesse F. Borders married Frances Crace on February 13, 1892 in Magoffin County at the home of Nehemiah Crace. The witnesses were H. C. Cantrell and John Blanton, and the minister was C. C. Crace.

According to his death certificate, John Music died January 4, 1916 in Buffalo, Johnson County, Kentucky, from "Pheumonia Fever." Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Johnson County, his birth date as March 1898 [mistake], his age as 29, his marital status as single, his occupation as farmer and coal miner, his parents as Abe Music (b. According to his obituary, Grover Music (age 76), son of Abe and Anna Webb Music, was a retired miner and a resident of Meally in Johnson County at the time of his death. Luther is buried next to his father and his brother, Ora.

According to his death certificate, Luther Elmer Preston died June 11, 1938 from heart failure. Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Johnson County, his age as 52, his marital status as widowed, his occupation as miner, his parents as John Preston (b. Lawrence County) and Sattie Castle [Sallie Castle?] (b. Johnson County), the informant as [unreadable first name] Whitaker of White House, and the burial place as White House.

According to his obituary, Walter Blanton (age 56), son of James M. and Sarah McCarty Blanton and a native of Johnson County, died February 26, 1946 at home in Kermit from complications from a broken shoulder which he sustained in a fall from a drilling machine on which he had been working. His condition apparently was improving until a few hours before his death. He was buried in J. W. Jaynes Cemeter in Mud Lick. He married Sally Prichard on November 14, 1907, who survived him. He was also survived by 5 children, James Morrison (of Kermit, West Virginia), Dixie (Oil Springs), Ollie (Staffordsville), Mabel (Dayton, Ohio), and Monnie (Galveston, Texas); 1 brother, Kendrick Blanton (Kenwood, Kentucky); 2 sisters, Mrs. Laura Lemaster (Win), and Mrs. Virgie Cullett [Gullett] (Red Bush); and 11 grandchildren. According to her obituary, Sally Prichard Blanton Wheeler (age 74), daughter of Charlie and Mary Cantrell Prichard, was born July 21, 1890 in Johnson County, died suddenly from a heart attack on March 26, 1965 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Conley, and was buried in Jaynes Cemetery in Mud Lick. She was first married to Walter Blanton, who died in 1944. She then married G. Monroe Wheeler in 1958, and he died in 1958. She was survived by 1 son, James Blanton (of Albion, Pennsylvania); 4 daughters, Dixie Blanton (Win, Kentucky), Mrs. Ollie Conley (Staffordsville), Mona Rooker (Seattle, Washington), and Mabel Blanton (Paintsville); 4 step-brothers, Rev. Cline Salyer (Paintsville), Arthur Salyer (Louisville), Hasten Salyer (Louisville), and Homer Salyer (Ashland); 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
