He married SARAH ALICE "ALICE" HOLBROOK, daughter of EZEKIEL SCOTT "SCOTT" HOLBROOK and MARY EMILY "EMILY" COX, May 18, 1895 in Morgan County, Kentucky. She was born May 17, 1877 in Jeptha, Morgan County, Kentucky, died December 20, 1948 in Dingus, Morgan County, Kentucky, and is buried in Hill Cemetery in Dingus, Morgan County, Kentucky.

According to his death certificate, John Frank Gillium died July 20, 1939 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, from bacillary dysentery. Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Morgan County, his age as 64 years 7 months 28 days, his marital status as married, his wife as Alice Holbrook, his occupation as farmer, his parents as Henry Gillium (b. He married LILLIAN BEATRICE "BEATRICE" WILLIAMS, daughter of BEN FRANK WILLIAMS and VIRGINIA F. BLEVINS, about 1924. She was born August 25, 1900 in Kentucky, and died February 19, 1973 in Middletown, Butler County, Ohio.

Notes: Beatrice Williams was the sister of Anna Laura Williams.

On that application it shows that Roy served from February 24, 1918 to April 22, 1919, and was honorably discharged. He served in 47th Infantry 4th Division. It also shows that he was born March 29, 1896, died June 9, 1957, and was buried in Bradley Cemetery in Dingus, Kentucky.

According to Kentucky death record transcripts, Roy M. Gilliam died June 9, 1957 in Morgan County at the age of 61. He was living in Morgan County at the time of his death.

"PATSY" SKAGGS, daughter of JOHN SKAGGS and MARY WOODS, about 1850. She was born about 1831 in Kentucky, and died about 1870. He married (2) AMANDA SUSAN ADKINS, daughter of LEWIS ADKINS and MARGARET ELSWICK, December 26, 1871 in Morgan County, Kentucky. She was born March of 1847 in Elliott County, Kentucky. Amanda Adkins married (1) GEORGE T. O'NEAL. He was born about 1849 in Virginia.

Amanda Susan Adkins was the sister of Pricey Rosella Franky Adkins.

A daughter from Amanda Adkins' 1st marriage was Mary Alice O'Neal.

Amanda Adkins' maiden name was determined by finding the Kentucky birth record of her son. William Sylvester O'Neal was born October 20, 1858 in Elk Fork, Morgan County, Kentucky, to George O'Neal and M. S. Adkins.
