Roseanna Blanton, 81, died Sunday, July 2, 1995, at Marion Manor, where she resided. Born July 25, 1913, in Wheelersburg, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late W.O. and Lillie (Adams) Lemaster. On April 28, 1926 in Salyersville, Kentucky, she married Frank Blanton, who died May 26, 1956, in Marion. She was formerly employed at Marion Army Depot and Marion Power Shovel, and in later years as a cook at Harding Hotel and the Depot Restaurant. She is survived by a son, Wayne Blanton, Napoleon; two daughters, Ruth Huffman and Tessie Jividen, both Marion; three brothers, Stormie Lemaster, Ashland, Kentucky, Joe Lemaster, Piketon, Hagar Lemaster, Texas; a sister, Opal Tackett, Salyersville, Kentucky; 35 grandchildren, 76 great-grand-children and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four daughters, Lessie Briggs, Cloa Gamble, Francis Van Vlerah, Ella Sue Reeves, a grandson and eight brothers and sisters.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Thursday (July 6) at the Boyd Funeral Home with the Rev. Floyd Radebaugh officiating. Burial is in Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

When Wayne Rice's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer working for Grant Rice in Oil Springs, Johnson County, that his closest relative was Grant Rice, and that he was born April 2, 1898. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had blue eyes and light-colored hair.

Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website and photos of their headstone (photo 2) shows that Wayne Rice lived from April 2, 1898 to September 24, 1986, and was buried in Grant Rice Cemetery in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky, and that Lillie Rice lived from October 19, 1901 to January 10, 1974, and was buried in the same cemetery.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, September 27, for Wayne Rice, 88, Of Oil Springs.

Mr. Rice died September 24, in Our Lady of Bellfonte Hospital at Russell.

He was born April 2, 1898, in Johnson County, the son of Dr. Grant and Sina Caudill Rice. He was a retired merchant and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

His wife Lillie Collins Rice preceded him in death.

Surviving are three sons, Ernest Forrest Rice of Ashland, Hubert Rice of Ocean City, Md, and William G Rice of Albion, Pa; a daughter, Mary Coppock of Fairborn, Ohio; a brother, Carl Rice of Oil Springs; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 27, in Jones Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Potter officiating.

Burial was in the Rice Family Cemetery at Oil Springs.

She was born January 3, 1866 in Johnson County, Kentucky, died December 28, 1936 in Staffordsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Millard Conley Cemetery in Staffordsville, Johnson County, Kentucky.

Millard Conley's brother, John, married Louisa Johnson's sister, Helen.

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Millard F. Conley (age 23) married Louisa Johnson (age 21) on August 13, 1887 in Johnson County.

Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website, along with photos of their headstone, shows that Millard V. Conley lived from August 16, 1864 to January 9, 1946, and was buried in Millard Conley Cemetery, and that Louisa Conley lived from January 3, 1865 to December 28, 1935 [1936], and was buried in the same cemetery.

When Barnes Patrick's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer in Falcon, Magoffin County, that his nearest relative was Emma Patrick of Falcon, and that he was born January 14, 1880. He was found to be tall, of medium build, and he had blue eyes and black hair. Not being able to read or write, he signed the card with an "X."

I found this info on Aunt Pearl McGuire Cooper and wanted to share it with you.... I remember that it was Edgar Cooper she was married to, but I think he went by Jim. Maybe James was his middle name. It says Befrely was a daughter. I remember it being Beverly. I think Daniel was born around 1946 or so and he was the youngest.
