Information on this family can also be found on page 491 of the book "Johnson County, Kentucky: A History of the County, and Genealogy of Its People Up to the Year 1927" by Mitchell Hall. In that book it says that Virgie Lee Conley married Ray Turner and that their children were Ruth Turner (married C. W. Compton, September 15, 1927) and John W. Turner. It also says:

     "Mr. and Mrs. Turner reside in a beautiful country home at the intersection of the Garrett Highway and Mayo Trail near Paintsville. Mr. Turner was for several years a dealer in coal and supplied the domestic needs of the city. He later became associated with the Paintsville Bank and Trust Company as assistant cashier and cashier. He remained in this capacity until a few years ago, when he severed his connection with this financial institution and has since been with J. K. Butcher & Company."

According to her death certificate, Lou Wheeler Turner died July 2, 1938 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, from senility. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Kentucky, her birth date as October 29, 1945, her marital status as widowed, her husband as John W. Turner, her parents as John Wheeler (b. Kentucky) and Mary Davis (b. Kentucky), the informant as Ray Turner of Paintsville, and the burial place as the family cemetery.

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Ray Turner (age 23) married Virgie Conley (age 21) on April 9, 1909 in Johnson County.

When Ray Turner's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer and a manager of a coal mine in Paintsville, that his closest relative was Virgie Turner in Paintsville, and that he was born May 31, 1886. He was found to be of tall and slender, and he had blue eyes and light-colored hair.

Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website and a photo of their headstone shows that Virgie Turner lived from 1888 to 1973 and was buried in Richmond Cemetery in Paintsville, and that Ray Turner lived from 1886 to 1978 and was buried in the same cemetery. Ray's parents are buried in the same cemetery.

His character was also featured as the doctor which delivered and befriended Loretta Lynn in 'Coal Miner's Daughter.' In reality they seem to be dear friends and Doc Turner was one of the most respected physicians in East Kentucky." Joe also says that John Turner was married to a lady by the name of Gwin Atkins after his marriage to Pauline Davis and before his marriage to Lynn Freeman.

In the book "Honaker Family in America" (page 564) it says that Mary Jane Honaker was born November 2, 1847 in Russell County, Virginia, and died in 1935. She was married to a man by the name of Daniel Jesse Gullett and their children were Mary E. Gullett (b. 1872), Cora A. Gullett (b. 1876), Samuel S. Gullett (b. 1879). This is incorrect. Two of Mary Jane Honaker Conley's children were Jemima Martisha Conley (Martisha being Mary's mother's name) and Thomas Jonathan Conley (Jonathan being her father's).

According to his death certificate, Daniel Jesse Conley died January 17, 1912 in Red Bush, Johnson County, Kentucky, from chronic valvular heart disease. Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Kentucky, his birth date as October 3, 1847, his marital status as married, his occupation as farmer, his parents as Thomas Conley (b. Kentucky) and Jemima Jayne (b. Kentucky), the informant as B. F. Conley of Flat Gap, Kentucky, and the burial place as Home Cemetery.

When Benjamin Franklin Conley's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer in Flat Gap, Johnson County, that his closest relative was Dora Conley of Flat Gap, and that he was born March 8, 1874. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had light blue eyes and light black hair.

According to his death certificate, Benj. Franklin Conley died August 16, 1933 in Flat Gap from apoplexy and paralysis. Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Kentucky, his birth date as March 8, 1874, his marital status as married, his wife as Dora Conley, his parents as Daniel Conley (b. According to his obituary, "C. Douglas Ramey, founder of Louisville's summer Shakespeare in the Park program died Wednesday, Oct 24 at Suburban Hospital. He had been ill with emphysema for several years. Ramey, 71, was an actor and a teacher, director and producer of drama in the Louisville for three decades. In the early 1960's his Carriage House Players presented an hour of Shakespeare during a Central Park arts festival that was so well received that he began the annual series of free outdoor performances. The festival, one of fewer than a dozen similar ones in the country, presents three plays each summer in 1977, Central Park's amphitheater was named in his honor. Ramey produced and directed the plays until recent years when health problems forced him to relinquish those duties. Mae Salyers, president of the Committee for Shakespeare in the Park, called Ramey "the guiding force behind the productions" and credited his determination with holding them together. Ramey was a native of East Point and a graduate of Goodman Memorial, the drama department of the Art Institute in Chicago. Ramey came to Louisville as a government worker during the Depression. Besides founding the Carriage House Players, he organized Paintsville Littly Theatre and Clarksville Little Theatre. He also was Clarksville Little Theatre's first director when it opened in 1947 and was there until 1959 when he resigned to devote more time to Carriage House. Mr. Ramey was born October 3, 1908, in Johnson County, the son of Dr. Frank and Precilla Picklesimer Ramey. He is survived by two brothers, George Lewis Ramey, East Point and Bayes Ramey, South Point, and a sister, Lora Osborn, Winter Park, FL. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct 26, in the East Point Church of Christ with Dave Flannery officiating. Burial was in the family cemetery, East Point, with Jones-Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements." On page 33 of the 1900 census for District 38 (Paintsville) in Johnson County, Kentucky (dated June 14, 1900), Sam Tackett is listed as the head of the household for house #269, he's a farmer, born in March of 1870 in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, married for 4 years, and he's 30 years old. Also listed are Delah (wife, born in March of 1875 in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, married for 4 year, she's given birth to 3 children and 2 are still living [hard to read], age 25), Flossa (daughter, born in March of 1898 in Kentucky, age 2), Taylor (son, born in November of 1900 [mistake] in Kentucky, age 6 months), and John Stafford (boarder, single, farmer, born in January of 1870 in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, age 30).

On page 3 of the 1910 census for District 66 (Paintsville) in Johnson County, Kentucky (dated April 18, 1910), Samuel Tackett is listed as the head of the household for house #16, he's a farmer, born in Kentucky, parents born in Virginia, 1st marriage, married for 14 years, and he's 40 years old. Also listed are Delilah (wife, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, 1st marriage, she's given birth to 8 children and 6 are still living, age 33), Flossie (daughter, born in Kentucky, age 12), Taylor (son, born in Kentucky, age 10), Pearley (daughter, born in Kentucky, age 8), Ray (son, born in Kentucky, age 6), Dennis (son, born in Kentucky, age 4), and Calista (daughter, born in Kentucky, age 1 year 11 months).

On page 24 of the 1930 census for District 58-4 (Magisterial District No. 1) in Johnson County, Kentucky (dated April 14, 1930), Cloie Blair is found living in the home of her sister and brother-in-law. Thomas Trimble is listed as the head of the household for house #211, he's a carpenter, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, first married at age 28, and he's 38 years old. Also listed are Mollie (wife, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, first married at 18, age 28), Leo F. (son, born in Kentucky, age 10), and Clora Blair (sister-in-law, single, laundress, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, age 18).

On pages 1 & 2 of the 1930 census for District 58-10 (Magisterial District No. 4) in Johnson County, Kentucky (dated April 2, 1930), Samuel Tackett is listed as the head of the household for house #10, he's a farmer, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, first marriage at age 20, and he's 58 years old. Also listed are Dellia (wife, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, first marriage at 19, age 58), Flossie (daughter, divorced, not working, born in Kentucky, first married at 16, age 32), Ray (son, divorced, farm laborer, born in Kentucky, first married at 20, age 24), Den (son, divorced, farm laborer, born in Kentucky, first married at 19, age 22), Clista (daughter, divorced, born in Kentucky, first married at 17, age 20), and Junie (daughter, born in Kentucky, age 12).

On page 57 of the 1940 census for District 58-3 in Johnson County, Kentucky (dated April 26, 1940), Homer McFadden is listed as the head of the household for house #521, he's a plumber, born in Kentucky, he's living in the same place that he was in 1935, he has a 6th grade education, and he's 35 years old. Also listed are Chloe (wife, born in Kentucky, 4th grade education, age 26), Paul (son, born in Kentucky, age 10), Marvin (son, born in Kentucky, age 9), and Keneth (son, born in Kentucky, age 6).

    The children of HOMER MCFADDIN and CLOIE BLAIR are:
