He was born February 29, 1898 in Johnson County, Kentucky, died September 7, 1968 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Davis Cemetery in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky. Dewey Williams married (2) SARAH BURKE, daughter of CALVIN BURKE and MARTHA MUSIC.

When Dewey D. Williams' World War I draft registration card was filled out in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer in Johnson County, that his closest relative was W. According to her death certificate, Numa Williams died January 29, 1927 in Flat Gap from pulmonary tuberculosis.       Elizabeth Wells is a prominent young business woman and worker in public affairs in Paintsville. She recently accepted a place with the Consolidation Coal Company at Jenkins, Kentucky. She and Charlie have in a way been instrumental in taking care of the younger members of this family.
      Sarah Wells is a school teacher, while William C. is in business with his brother Bernard at Louisa, Kentucky.

She married GERMAN CYRUS "GUS" WELLS, son of WILLIAM ALLEN WELLS and MARY ELIZABETH HICKS, August 1, 1916 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky. He was born December 5, 1890 in Boons Camp, Johnson County, Kentucky, died August 12, 1955 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Wells-Hicks Cemetery in Williamsport, Johnson County, Kentucky.

      German C. Wells conducts a store in Paintsville. He is a prominent politician, being affiliated with the Democratic party, and is a leader in the county.

German Cyrus "Gus" Wells was the brother of Jennie Lee Wells and William G. Wells. William Wells married Cora Blair's sister.

German Wells had a twin brother named Elbridge. He also had twins and named them German and Elbridge.

When German C. Wells' World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was an insurance agent in Jenkins, Kentucky, that he had a wife and she was expecting a child, and that he was born December 5, 1890 in Boons Camp, Kentucky. He was found to be of medium height and stout build, and he had brown eyes and brown hair.

Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website and photos of their headstones (photo 2) (photo 3) (photo 4) shows that Cora Blair Wells lived from June 18, 1894 to 1964, and was buried in Wells-Hicks Cemetery in Williamsport, Johnson County, Kentucky, that German Cyrus "Gus" Wells lived from December 5, 1890 to August 12, 1955, was buried in the same cemetery, that German C. Wells Jr. lived from March 5, 1919 to July 19, 1919, was buried in the same cemetery, and that Elbridge Davis Wells lived from March 5, 1919 to January 29, 1977, and was buried in the same cemetery.

According to his death certificate, Gus C. Wells died August 12, 1955 at home in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, from a heart attack. He was born December 5, 1890 in Williamsport, married Cora Blair on August 1, 1916, died suddenly from a heart attack on August 12, 1955 at home in Paintsville, and was buried in the old Wells Cemetery in Boonscamp. He was preceded in death by an infant son, German Cyrus Wells Jr. He was survived by his wife; 2 sons, Frank Allen Wells (of Paintsville) and Elbridge Davis Wells (Paintsville); 1 daughter, Mrs. Mary Katherine Schmitt (Paintsville); 2 brothers, R. He was removed to the Lexington hospital on Saturday after becoming paralyzed below the waist. He was the husband of the former May Wells, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Wells of this city. Born in Paintsville on Dec. 29, 1921, he had resided here most of his life where he was engaged in the drilling of oil wells. He was married on April 17, 1945, and after serving four years in the U. S. Army during World War II, he continued to make his home here. He was affiliated with the Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, one son, Michael Joseph, 5; two daughters Nancy Catherine, 3., and Ruth Meyers, two months; his father, Joseph F. Schmitt of Pittsburgh and one brother, Robert W. Schmitt, also of Pittsburgh. His mother, Ruth Meyers Schmitt, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 24, at 10:30 at Our Lady of The Mountain Chapel by Rev. Joseph Wimmers. Burial was made in the Wells Cemetery at Boons Camp under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home."

"JERRY" LEWIS, son of JAMES LEWIS and PAULINA JACKSON, about 1885. He was born January 15, 1862 in Harlen County, Kentucky, and died November 27, 1916 in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky.

Notes: Lucy Gullett's last name was determined by finding her son's birth record, althought the transcription reads that his name was "Kastuo" rather than "Erastus." There is only one Lucy Gullett found in the area and she was the daughter of Moses Gullett and Mary "Polly" Arnett, and she was 5 years older than the Lucy Gullett who married Hatton Salyer claimed she was. Adams, who died April 9 of wounds received in Vietnam. PFC Adams had been transferred from Vietnam to Japan for treatment, and then taken to Walter Reed General Hospital in Washington, where he succumbed. He was injured in January in Vietnam, when a hostile mine detonated, striking him with shrapnel in the right frontal lobe of the brain and in all extremities. Shortly after being hospitalized in Vietnam, he suffered cardiac arrest and was transferred to a hospital in Japan, on the serious list. Born at Whitehouse in September, 1948, the 20 year old soldier was the son of John and Maggie Adkins Adams.
