A search of ancestry.com shows that there are a number of family trees that say that Willie Pennington, husband of Almedia Jackson, died September 11, 1947 in Lexington, Kentucky. There really isn't any evidence that supports this. That Willie Pennington, according to his death certificate, was single - as opposed to married or divorced - and was born in Carter County and his usual place of residence was in Carter County. He died from "Senile Psychosis Due to Psychosis with Mental Deficiency," and his birth date is listed as 1874. The length of his illness is listed as unknown. He can be found on page 5 of the 1880 census for District 17 (Precinct 7) in Carter County, Kentucky, his name is listed as William, he's 6 years old, and he's born in Kentucky, as are his parents, James and Martha. On page 21 of the 1920 census for District 67 (Maddox) in Carter County, Kentucky, he's found living with his widowed mother and a couple of boarders, he's single, 43 years old, and nobody in the house is working. Also listed is Pheba [Almedia] (wife, born in January of 1880 in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, married for 1 year, she hasn't had any children, age 20). There's no proof that this is actually Willie and Almedia Jackson Pennington, but everything fits together, and they are living next to Henry and Sola Saylor, who were the grandparents of William Hobert Blanton, who married Willie and Almedia's daughter, Stella. William's birth date is listed as July of 1875, and on his World War I draft registration card he lists his birth date as July 3, 1875.
