TRIMBLE, son of GREENVILLE V. TRIMBLE and ALABAMA LEMASTER, April 28, 1929, Greenup, Greenup County, Kentucky. He was born December 14, 1895 in Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky, died September 16, 1970 in Bellefontaine, Logan County, Ohio, and is buried in Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, Logan County, Ohio.

Notes: Information on Reba Salyer can be found on page 501 of the book "Johnson County, Kentucky: A History of the County, and Genealogy of Its People Up to the Year 1927" by Mitchell Hall. In that book it says that she was born August 21, 1905.

Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of their headstone shows that Reba Trimble lived from August 21, 1905 to August 11, 1968, and was buried in Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, Logan County, Ohio, and that Buell Trimble lived from December 14, 1895 to September 16, 1970, and was buried in the same cemetery. A 2nd marker shows that Buell Trimble served in World War I in the "OHIO WAGR I INFANTRY BRIGADE."

According to her obituary, Reba Salyer Trimble (age 62), daughter of Addison M. and Cora Rice Salyer, was a resident of West Liberty, Ohio, at the time of her death. She was born August 21, 1905, was pronounced dead on arrival at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio, on August 11, 1968, and was buried in Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty. "She had been under a physician's care for a heart condition, but death was unexpected." She was preceded in death by 2 brothers. She was survived by her husband, Buell G. He married (2) SARAH ANN "SADIE" EALEY, daughter of ARTA FRANCIS PELPHREY and WILLIAM ELY, March 14, 1898 in Johnson County, Kentucky. She was born October 29, 1869 in Kentucky, died May 19, 1963 in Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Ealey Cemetery in Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky. Alabama Lemaster married (1) HAMILTON PICKLESIMER.

Judith Lemaster was the sister of Thomas Lemaster, James P. Lemaster, Mary Almeda Lemaster and Zilpha Lemaster.

Alabama Lemaster was the daughter of Judith Lemaster and reportedly the daughter of Daniel Ealey. Judith married David Picklesimer, and his son from his previous marriage with Mary Barnett was Hamilton Picklesimer, who was Alabama's 1st husband. Alabama was the half-sister of Simon Peter Picklesimer.

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Alabama Lemaster (age 16) married Hamilton Picklesimer (age 20) on March 8, 1881 in Johnson County.

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Green Trimble (1st marriage, age 20) married Alabama Picklesimer (2nd marriage, age 22) on March 5, 1887 in Johnson County.

Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website and a photo of their headstone shows that Green V. Trimble lived from August 6, 1866 to January 13, 1949, and was buried in Ealey Family Cemetery in Barnetts Creek, and that Sarah A. Trimble lived from October 29, 1869 to May 19, 1963, and was buried in the same cemetery. This cemetery "is located on Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, Ky on Rte 40 about 6.5 mile [sic] west of Paintsville, just before the Matthew Ealey bridge. There is a slight area to permit off road parking and a footbridge to cross over to enter the cemetery."

According to his death certificate, Green V. Trimble died January 13, 1950 in Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky, from "Heart and bowel trouble." Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Johnson County, his birth date as August 6, 1866, his marital status as married, his occupation as farmer, his parents as William Trimble and Clarinda Picklesimer, the informant as Ollie Tackett, and the burial place as Ealey Cemetery in Barnetts Creek.

According to his obituary, Green V. Trimble (age 83), son of William and Clarenda Picklesimer Trimble, was born August 6, 1866 in Barnetts Creek, died January 15, 1950 at home in Barnetts Creek, and was buried in Ealey Cemetery. According to her death certificate, Sarah Rice Watkins Blair died September 8, 1938 in Beaver Valley Hospital in Martin, Floyd County, Kentucky, and the cause of death is listed as "Oeration followed Uremia and peritonilla abscess & septecemia." Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Johnson County, her birth date as December 23, 1888, her marital status as married, her husband as Oscar Blair, her parents as P. G. Rice (b. Johnson County) and Mary Rice (b. Johnson County), the informant as "Gail Watkins (son)" of Athens, Ohio, and the burial place as Hager Hill, Kentucky.

He married VIRGINIA MADGE "MADGE" RICE, daughter of JAMES ALBERT RICE and DOLLY VIRGINIA CRISLIP, August 27, 1914 in Johnson County, Kentucky. She was born November 7, 1895 in Kentucky, died October 2, 1961 in Boyd County, Kentucky, and is buried in Rose Hill Burial Park and Mausoleum in Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky.

George Washington Rice married (2) CATHERINE "KATE" MELVIN, daughter of ANDREW MELVIN and MARIAM HESELTINE "BUB" RULE, October 7, 1899 in Johnson County, Kentucky. She was born January 21, 1870 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, died May 26, 1949 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky.

Notes: Information on this family can be found on page 454 of the book "Johnson County, Kentucky: A History of the County, and Genealogy of Its People Up to the Year 1927" by Mitchell Hall. In that book it says that George Wash Rice married Mary Emily Ramey, daughter of Judge Ramey, and that their children were Lidda Rice (married first to Green P. Salyer, second to a Litteral), William Jasper Rice (married Eloise McGuire, who died July 7, 1926), Cynthia Rice (married Wick Holbrook - live in Washington), Mollie Rice (married Elijah Goble), George Winton Rice (married Maggie Osborn), Bell Rice (married J. H. Gamble), James A. Rice (married Dollie Crislipp), Emma Rice (married J. B. Brown), and Louis Rice (married Louisa Akers). It also says that G. W. Rice also served in the Union Army during the Civil War.

James Ramey was reportedly James Stephen Ramey Sr., and a judge who was born in Washington County, Virginia, and died in Johnson County, Kentucky. His first wife was reportedly Mary Wheeler, whom he married February 14, 1818 in Floyd County, Kentucky. She reportedly died before 1926, as James reportedly married Elizabeth Coninger on January 26, 1926 in Floyd County. His third wife was reportedly Anna Hill.

Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website shows that a "Corpl. George W. Rice" was buried in Dye Family Cemetery "Off Rt 1092 at foot of Flat Gap Hill and Upper Franks Creek)," and that a Mary E. Rice lived from March 30, 1838-9 to July 2, 1898, and was buried in the same cemetery.

Information found on findagrave.com shows that George Washington Rice lived from October 4, 1831 to June 19, 1907, and was buried in Salyers Cemetery in Flat Gap, Johnson County, Kentucky. This couldn't be verified.

According to her death certificate, Catherine Melvin Rice died May 26, 1949 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, from cardiovascular renal disease, chronic rheumatic arthritis, senility, and hypertension. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Paintsville, her birth date as January 21, 1870, her marital status as widowed, her parents as Andrew Melvin and Bub Rule, the informant as Yancey Melvin, and the burial place as Town Cemetery in Paintsville.

     "James Albert Rice, 70, died suddenly at Wittensville early Monday morning from a heart attack. He was staying at the home of Kenis VanHoose and was working as a sawyer at Mr. VanHoose's sawmill. He was preparing to go to his work and was wiping the windshield of a truck when stricken. He sunk down and never regained consciousness. Mr. Rice was one of the best known men in the county had had been very active during his life. For many years, he was in the timber and lumber business and operated a sawmill in various sections of the county. He was elected and served two terms as Magistrate of his district and was credited with being a good official. He was familiarly known as 'Squire' Rice and was a man with many friends. Funeral services were held at 2 o"clock Wednesday afternoon at the home of ------CAN'T READ------of Wittensville. Burial was made in the family cemetery at that place. His wife preceded him in death several years ago. He was a son G. Wash Rice, an old Union soldier who died in Paintsville several years ago. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Dolly Victor Perry, Mrs. Maude Alice Daniel, and Mrs. Virginia Madge Hitchcock, all of Garrett, and Mrs. Minnie Emily Witten, Wittensville; four sons, Russell Gaines Rice, Van Lear; Barton Stone Gardner Rice, James Albert Rice, Jr., and Perry Bailey Rice, all of Garrett, Ky. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Lou Akers, Russell, Ky. The undertaking department of the Paintsville Furniture Co., had charge of the funeral arrangements." According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, B. L. Pelphrey (age 21) married Moley E. Picklesimer (age 20) on October 1, 1891 in Johnson County.

According to her death certificate, Mollie Emaline Pelphrey died October 21, 1953 in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky, from aortic regurgitation due to rheumatism. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Johnson County, Kentucky, her birth date as February 23, 1869, her marital status as widowed, her parents as Nathienal Picklesimer and unknown, the doctor as Grant Rice [Ulysses Grant Rice], the informant as Clarence Pelphrey, and the burial place as Pelphrey Cemetery in Barnetts Creek.

According to Kentucky death record transcripts, Mollie E. Pelphrey died October 21, 1953 in Johnson County at the age of 84. She was living in Johnson County at the time of her death.

According to his death certificate, Benjamin Pelphrey died March 6, 1934 in Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky, from broncho pneumonia following a case of the flu. Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Kentucky, his birth date as December 22, 1870, his marital status as married, his parents as James M. Pelphrey (b. Kentucky) and Abbie Caudill (b. Kentucky), the informant as Smith Pelphrey of Paintsville, Kentucky, and the burial place as Barnetts Creek.

According to his obituary, [In the Paintsville Herald on March 8, 1934] (Taken from the obituary page of the The Johnson County Historical & Genealogical Society's website.)

     "News was received here this week that Ben Pelphrey, 65 years of age, and one of the best citizens of the county had died at his home at Barnetts Creek Tuesday after a week’s illness from double pneumonia. Mr. Pelphrey was a farmer and a good man. Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday, and burial followed near the home."

According to Kentucky death record transcripts, Benjamin Pelphrey died March 6, 1934 in Johnson County at the age of 63.

On page 15 of the 1900 census for District 40 (Magisterial District No. 3) in Johnson County, Kentucky (dated June 7, 1900), Benjamin Pelphrey is listed as the head of the household for house #129, he's a farmer, born in December of 1869 in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, married for 8 years, and he's 30 years old. Also listed are Emma (wife, born in February of 1873 in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, she's given birth to 2 children and both are still living, age 27), Stella (daughter, born in October of 1891 in Kentucky, age 8), and Lily (daughter, born in April of 1899 in Kentucky, age 1).

On page 11 of the 1910 census for District 71 (Magisterial District No. 3) in Johnson County, Kentucky (dated April 22, 1910), Benjamin F. Pelphrey is listed as the head of the household for house #97, he's a farmer, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, 1st marriage, married for 16 years, and he's 40 years old. Also listed are Malie E. (wife, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, she's given birth to 4 children and 3 are still living, age 35), Lily (daughter, born in Kentucky, age 10), Jesse (son, born in Kentucky, age 8), and Clarence (son, born in Kentucky, age 2).

On page 4 of the 1920 census for District 37 (Barnetts Creek) in Johnson County, Kentucky (dated January 5, 1920), B. F. Pelphrey is listed as the head of the household for house #21, he's a farmer, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, and he's 50 years old. Also listed are Maly Emmiline (wife, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, age 48), and Clarence (son, born in Kentucky, age 13). They are living next to son, Jesse.

On pages 16 & 17 of the 1930 census for District 58-7 (Magisterial District No. 3) in Johnson County, Kentucky (dated April 14 & 15, 1930), Benjamin F. Pelphrey is listed as the head of the household for house #153, he's a farmer, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, first married at age 22, and he's 60 years old. Also listed are Emma (wife, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, first married at 20, age 58), Clarence (son, divorced, farm laborer, born in Kentucky, first married at 13, age 22), Lillie Hitchcock (daughter, married, servant for a private family, born in Kentucky, first married at 14, age 30), Mitchell Hitchcock (grandson, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, age 15), Kenneth Hitchcock (grandson, born in Ohio, parents born in Kentucky, age 13), and Estill Hitchcock (son-in-law, no occupation, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, first married at 24, age 40).

On page 28 of the 1940 census for District 58-8 in Johnson County, Kentucky (dated April 22, 1940), Emma Pelphrey is listed as the head of the household for house #236, she's widowed, not working, born in Kentucky, she's living in the same place that she was in 1935, she has a 4th grade education, and she's 67 years old. She's living by herself.
