JOSEPHINE LITTERAL, daughter of MILTON LITTERAL and MANERVA JACKSON, was born August 7, 1858 in Johnson County, Kentucky, died November 28, 1938 in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Green Adams Cemetery in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky. She married GABRIEL JACKSON, son of JOHN W. JACKSON and MARTHA A. HALL, May 6, 1876. He was born December 17, 1857 in Kentucky, and died November 14, 1948 in Cyrus, Magoffin County, Kentucky.

Notes: According to Kentucky birth records, Josephene Literal was born August 7, 1858 in Johnson County to Milton Literal and Manervea Jackson.

According to her death certificate, Josephine Litteral Jackson died November 28, 1938 in Oil Springs from nephritis, which is an inflamation of one or both kidneys. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Magoffin County, her birth date as August 7, 1858, her marital status as married, her husband as Gabril Jackson, her father as Milton Litteral (b. Johnson County), her mother's maiden name is blank, the informant as Loyd Jackson of Oil Springs, the burial place as Oil Springs, and the doctor as Grant Rice [Ulysses Grant Rice].

According to her obituary, Josephine Litteral Jackson (age 80), died November 25, 1938 at her home near Oil Springs from infirmities due to advanced age, and was buried in Green Adams Cemetery on Little Paint. She was married to Gabriel Jackson in 1876. She was the mother of 12 children, 7 of whom had preceded her in death. The surviving chidren were Laura Jackson Borders, Meda Jackson Pennington, James, Burns, and Lloyd Jackson. She was also survived by her aged husband. Eva Adams was the sister of Dora Adams and Cassie E. Adams.

When Walter Salyer's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer in Ballot, Johnson County, working for James H. Salyer, that his closest relative was James H. Salyer, and that he was born June 27, 1898. He was found to be tall, of medium build, and he had black eyes and dark brown hair. Not being able to read or write, he signed the card with an "X."

According to his death certificate, Walter Salyer died January 29, 1928 in Ballot, Johnson County, Kentucky, from tuberculosis of the lungs. Co." in Jacksonville, Tennessee, that his closest relative was "Myrtle Stone Spradlin Wife" of Portsmouth, Ohio, and that he was born February 23, 1886. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had light blue eyes and light brown hair.

According to his death certificate, Harry Spradlin died April 1, 1947 in Paintsville Hospital in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, from pulmonary problems. Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Kentucky, his birth date as February 23, 1887, his marital status as married, his wife as Florence Spradlin, her age as 55, his occupation as farmer, his parents as Elliot Spradlin (b. Notes: There are reports that state that Dicey was the Dicy J. Salyer who was the daughter of James Salyer and Sarah Blanton. The census reports show that this isn't true. Jessie's brother, Toy, died in 1943 from tuberculosis and his mother's name is "deceased." Dicey is probably Disa Maranda Salyer, daughter of Rachel Conley and John M. Salyer.

He was born May 17, 1891 in Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky, died November 20, 1959 in Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, and is buried in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery in Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky. Alfred Lemaster married (2) AUDREY CAUDILL.

Notes: Alfred Lemaster was the brother of Clara Lemaster and Rosa Lemaster.

He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had blue eyes and black hair.

According to his obituary, B. F. Whitt (age 83), son of Callahan and Sarah Pace Whitt, was a real estate dealer in Wheelersburg, Ohio. He was born January 24, 1884 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, and died January 30, 1957 at home after suffering a heart attack. He was first married to Mary Jackson, who died October 15, 1946. He later married Mrs. Grace Holderby, who survived him.
