Conley's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1918 in Greenup County, Kentucky, he stated that he was self-employed in New Boston, Ohio, that his closest relative was Julia M. Conley of Slonington, Kentucky, that he was born April 3, 1897 in Magoffin County, and that his father was born in Magoffin County, Kentucky. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had light blue eyes and dark brown hair.

MINERVA CONLEY, daughter of LYDIA MARGARET CONLEY and EDWARD ERVIN EVANS, was born November 15, 1901 in Kentucky, died April 19, 1927 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Sam Blair Cemetery in Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky. She married WILLIAM L. BLAIR, son of GEORGE W. WILEY BLAIR and ESTHER CAUDILL, about 1920. He was born August 23, 1886 in Denver, Johnson County, Kentucky, died January 24, 1958 in Huntington, Wayne County, West Virginia, and is buried in Sam Blair Cemetery in Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky.

Notes: When William Blair's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer in Denver, Kentucky, that he was single, that he claimed exemption from the draft because he had weak eyes, and that he was born August 23, 1886 in Denver. He was found to be short, of medium build, and he had blue eyes and dark brown hair.

Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website shows that Manerva Blair lived from November 15, 1901 to April 19, 1927, and was buried in Sam Blair Cemetery in Denver, Johnson County, Kentucky, and that William L. Blair lived from August 23, 1886 to January 24, 1958, and was buried in the same cemetery. For William it also saya "PVT 3CO COAST ART WW-1."

According to her death certificate, Minerva Blair died April 19, 1927 in Paintsville from "Septicemia - Sudden Collapse due to child bed fever." Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Kentucky, her birth date as November 15, 1900, her marital status as married, her parents as Edward Evans (b. Kentucky) and Lydia Conley (b. Kentucky), and the informant as William L. Blair of Leander, Kentucky.

According to Kentucky death record transcripts, Minerva Blair died April 19, 1927 in Johnson County at the age of 26.

On May 14, 1958, Naomia Caudill of Fort Gay, West Virginia, filled out an application to try and get a headstone for William L. Blair, who was a veteran. On this application it says that he was born August 23, 1886, died January 24, 1958, and was buried in Denver, Kentucky. He enlisted on December 19, 1917, and was honorably discharged as a private on December 16, 1918. He served in the "3rd Co. C.A.C.C. Def of PENSACOLA FLORIDA."

According to his obituary, William Blair (age 71), son of George and Esther Caudill Blair, was a farmer, a World War I veteran, and he had lived in Denver, Kentucky, for most of his life. He was born August 23, 1886 in Johnson County, died January 24, 1958 in Veterans Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia, from a heart attack, and was buried in Blair Cemetery in Barnetts Creek. He was survived by his widow, Minerva Conley Blair [mistake]; and 3 daughters, Nellie Blair (of Denver), Neva Fairchild (Arlington, Ohio), and Naomi Baldwin (Paintsville). On Dock Hale's page it also says "Name Daniel Hale is on death certificate and grave stone but they are incorrect. Date and place of birth on death certificate also incorrect. Mixup on info due to Perry County Infirmary / Home where he was living for years before he passed away. Family is in process of making new grave stone for Melvin Dock Hale. Cemetery now also known as Maplewood."

According to her death certificate, Talitha Williams Wallin McKenzie died March 27, 1945 in Catlettsburg from mitrial regurgitation. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Johnson County, her birth date as September 14, 1872, her marital status as married, her husband as Albert McKenzie, her parents as David Williams (b. Johnson County) and Lida Webb [Lydia M. Webb] (b. Johnson County), the informant as Mrs. R. W. Wallin [R. W. Wallen] of Kenova, West Virginia, and the burial place as Catlettsburg Cemetery.

When Walter Frank Conley's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer, that he was married, and that he was born September 6, 1890 in Silverhill, Morgan County, Kentucky. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had light brown eyes and light brown hair.

      According to his obituary, "Jess Boyd Ward, 38, died suddenly at 1:10 a.m., December 23, 1958 of a heart attack while visiting here at the home of his father-in-law, McKinley Baldwin. He was the son of G. Mack Ward and Ethel Boyd Ward, and for three years been a resident of Middlesex, N. J. where he was Eastern Sales Manager for Selwyn-Pacific Company of Los Angeles, Cal. Mr. Ward was a brother of County Judge Bill Ward of this city, and was a member of a prominent Johnson County family. He was born at Thelma in this county on October 23, 1920, and was a graduate of Paintsville High School. He attended Morehead State College, and University of Kentucky, and Southern Technical Institute at Atlanta, Ga., where he obtained a degree in associate engineering. He was active in politics and was a candidate for lieutenant governor of Kentucky in the Democratic primary four years ago. He was a veteran of World War II, and served on active duty from 1943 to 1946. Mr. Ward was married to Imogene Baldwin at Pikeville on December 24, 1941. Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of their headstone shows that Erastus Salyer lived from 1914 to 2000, and was buried in the Garden of Meditation of Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens in New Port Richey, Pasco County, Florida, and that Lena H. Salyer lived from 1916 to 2009, and was buried in the same section of the same cemetery.

Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website shows that Gaynell Lewis, lived from October 2, 1915 to October 23, 1990, and was buried in Salyer Family Cemetery in Red Bush, Johnson County, Kentucky, and close - if not next - to Erastus' parents. Don Salyer [her son] also has a headstone in this cemetery, but only the birth date is engraved on it.

According to his obituary, Erastus Salyer (age 85), was born in Red Bush, Johnson County, and had moved from Dayton, Ohio to New Port Richey, Florida, in 1973, which is where he lived when he died on January 9, 2000. He was survived by his wife, Lena Hill Salyer; and 1 daughter, Lena Salyer (of New Port Richey). He was buried in Meadowlawn Memorial Cemetery in New Port Richey.
