According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Sherman Stanley married Mellie [sic] on May 3, 1906 in Magoffin County at the home of Alamander Hackworth. The witnesses were R. C. Stone and Mill Pace, and the minister was L. F. Caudill.

When Sherman Stanley's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer in Ivyton, Magoffin County, that his closest relative was "Mollie Stanley Wife" of Ivyton, and that he was born March 20, 1882. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had blue eyes and sandy-colored hair.

According to Kentucky death record transcripts, Sherman Stanley died August 9, 1942 in Magoffin County at the age of 58. He was living in Magoffin County at the time of his death.

When Cyrus Bailey's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in Ivyton, Magoffin County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer in Ivyton, that he was married and had 1 child, and he was born March 27, 1888 in Asa, Kentucky. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had blue eyes and dark brown hair.

When Cyrus Bailey's World War II draft registration card was filled out on April 25, 1942 in Columbus, Franklin County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a foreman working for a welding shop in Grove City, Franklin County, that the person who would always know his address was James H. Salyers of Oil Springs, Kentucky, and that he was born March 27, 1888 in Johnson County, Kentucky. He was found to be 5 feet 5 inches tall, he weighed 150 pounds, and he had blue eyes, gray hair, and a ruddy complexion.

According to Ohio death record transcripts, Cyrus Bailey was born about 1888, and died September 5, 1969 in a long-term care facility in Hilliard, Franklin County, at the age of 81. He was widowed at the time of his death.

He was born February 4, 1928, and died September 26, 2010 at home in Salyersville, and was buried in Carty Cemetery in Stinson, Kentucky. She was born October 13, 1885 in Morgan County, Kentucky, died May 9, 1961 in Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Town Cemetery in Johnson County, Kentucky. He married (2) LILLIAN DEAN. Lillian Dean married (1) JAMES "SON" FAIRCHILD JR.

In that book it says, on page 352, that Thomas Hackworth was born about 1874 and married Lillie Rice in April of 1899. On page 354 it says that Mahala A. Conley was born March 21, 1889, died November 9, 1932, and married a man by the name of Hackworth in July of 1913.

Frank Moore (Huntington, West Virginia), Mrs. Boyd Bailey (Conley, Kentucky), and Mrs. Sherman Hackworth (Salyersville). She married LEANDER J. MAY, son of ELZA W. MAY and SARAH "SALLIE" DOTSON, June 26, 1907. He was born November 7, 1884 in Floyd County, Kentucky, and died October 11, 1968 in Fayette County, Kentucky.

May was born November 7, 1884, and died October 11, 1968. He married Julia Baldridge on June 26, 1907. She died March 9, 1912.

When Leander J. May's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Lincoln County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer in Eubank, Pulaski County, Kentucky, that his closest relative was E. W. May of Eubank, and that he was born November 7, 1884. He was found to be of medium height and slender build, and he had black eyes and black hair.

Information found on findagrave.com claims that Leander J. May was born November 7, 1884, died October 11, 1968, and was buried in Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg, Lincoln County, Kentucky. There are no photos of his headstone. There is an online listing of people buried in Double Springs Cemetery on a Lincoln County website that doesn't show Leander buried there.

According to her death certificate, Julia Baldridge May died March 9, 1912 in Bonanza, Floyd County, Kentucky, from acute pulmonary tuberculosis. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Floyd County, her birth date as June 6, 1884, her marital status as married, her parents as William Baldridge (b. Kentucky) and Loucina Conley (b. Kentucky), the informant as Jane Baldridge of Cliff, Kentucky, and the burial place as Baldridge Cemetery.

In that book it says that Henry Harman Crace and Nancy A. Cain were married October 2, 1887, and they had no children. Nancy Crace is found living next to her mother and sister in 1900, widowed, and with 6 children (one named Henry). The last child was born in March of 1899, just after Henry Crace died. The 1890 census for most of the country was destroyed by fire.

      Arcona's obituary: "One woman was killed instantly and two other women and three men in an automobile were injured, some seriously, when the vehicle left the road near the mouth of Buffalo Creek at around 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The dead woman was Miss Anconie Katherine Davis, 23, daughter of Mrs. Herbert Davis of Stafford Addition. Floyd Stambaugh, driver and owner of the car, and two sisters, Pearle Tackett and Clystia Tackett of Staffordsville, were seriously injured, it was said. The two sisters are now in the Paintsville Hospital while Stambaugh is in the Paintsville Clinic. Two other men, said to have been Arnold Combs, Nippa, and Chic Dingess of West Virginia, were less seriously hurt and were not kept in the hospital. An inquest was held Monday morning by Johnson County Coroner, Rev. Guy W. Preston and a coroner's jury consisting of Milt Grim and Frank Daniel of Nippa, Mont Redford and Albert Colvin of Paintsville, Ballard Castle, Thealka and Claude May, Asa. Mr. Preston said the death car left the road and cleared a barbed-wire fence to land in the creek bottom across the road from Eddie Ward's home. According to witnesses, Mr. Preston said, the car was making excessive speed when the accident occurred. The motor was almost completely demolished from having apparently landed fence. The Coroner's jury refrained from placing the blame for the death, except to say that Miss Davis met death in a motor accident. The wrecked car was brought to the Big Sandy Motor Company's Garage in Stafford Addition. Dr. F. M. Picklesimer of the Clinic, said Stambaugh was unconscious when brought to the hospital, but that his condition is not serious. Besides her mother, who was Miss Mary Castle before her marriage, Miss Davis is survived by a brother, Millard Davis somewhere in the state of Maine, another brother, who is in the U. S. Army, Herbert Davis Jr., Hulen, Texas, and the following brothers and sisters at home; Arizona, Jackieline, Lillian and Franklin. Funeral services are to be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning if the brother who is in Texas arrives by that time. Miss Davis was a former employee of the Blue and Gold Cafe, Depot Road, but had not worked there since early summer, it was said. Her father, Herbert Davis died some five years ago. (son, born in California, age 2), T. Farnham [Timothy] (boarder, widowed, farmer, born in Maine, parents born in Maine, age 67), and J. W. Martin [John] (boarder, widowed, teacher, born in Illinois, father born in Tennessee, mother born in North Carolina). J. W. Martin is Lemuel's brother, and T. Farnham is Cornelia's father.

WILLIAM HOGGATT, son of PHILIP HOGGATT and MARY GLENDENNINGS, was born July 14, 1727, and died April 27, 1772 in North Carolina. He married HANNAH BEALS, daughter of WILLIAM BALES, May 30, 1760. She was born about 1745, and died February 4, 1804. Hannah married (2) JOSEPH CLOUD April 22, 1790.

Notes: According to "The Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy," by William Wade Hinshaw, Philip and Mary "lived in a settlement at Chadsford, Chester Co, Penn in early married life, owning land in Ablemarle Co, Va and settled in Guilford Co, N.C. ca 1755."

Philip was probably born in England.

David Glendennings was from Edinburg, Scotland.

Sanford (mother-in-law, widowed, born in Missouri, father born in Germany, mother born in Missouri, she's given birth to 1 child and that child is still living, age 51), Alice E. Sanford (step-daughter, born in Colorado, father born in Kansas, mother born in Missouri, age 3), and John R.
