WILLIAMS, daughter of MARY ETTA HAMILTON and MILFORD CLAY WILLIAMS, was born February 14, 1896 in Williams Creek, Morgan County, Kentucky, died July 4, 1979 in West Liberty, Morgan County, Kentucky, and is buried in Brown Cemetery in Relief, Morgan County, Kentucky. She married CHARLEY L. HILL, son of JOHN WALLACE HILL and NANCY ELLEN FERGUSON, January 6, 1911. He was born January 23, 1892 in Kentucky, and died March 17, 1964 in Morgan County, Kentucky.

Notes: Charley Hill was the brother of Clarinda Hill. Their mother reportedly died January 27, 1892, 4 days after Charley's birth.

In Maude's obituary it says that she married Charley Hill on January 6, 1910, but they're both living at home in April of 1910 when the census was taken.

According to his obituary, Oba David Hill (age 54), son of John W. and Sarah Hamilton Hill [Sarah M. Hamilton], was born January 14, 1898, died December 12, 1952 at home in Relief, Morgan County, Kentucky, from liver cancer, and was buried in Coldiron Cemetery. He was survived by his wife, Pearl Fyffe Hill; 2 sons, Jesse Cranston Hill (of Relief) and David Lee Hill (Relief); 2 daughters, Nancy Adele Hill (Relief) and Dainty Hill Preston (Long Beach, New York); 1 foster daughter, Christine Fannin; 3 brothers, Estil Hill (West Liberty), Lloyd Hill (Relief), and Roy Hill (Blaine, Kentucky); 1 half-brother, Charley Hill (Relief); and 2 half-sisters, Mrs. Sarah Williams (Portsmouth, Ohio) and Clara Stapleton (Flat Gap, Kentucky). She was born January 9, 1867 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, died November 14, 1925 in Hamilton County, Ohio, and is buried in Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio.

Notes: Information on Benjamin Franklin Fairchild can be found on page 369 of "The Conley Clan of Eastern Kentucky," published and sold by The Magoffin County Historical Society. In that book (Volume II) it says that he was born November 15, 1858, and died January 14, 1915.

Information found on findagrave.com shows that Benjamin F. Fairchild died in 1915 and was buried in Garden LN, Section 121, Lot 0, Space 936 of Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, and that Mary M. Fairchild died in 1925 and was buried in Space 937, next to her husband.

According to Ohio death records, Minta Fairchild died November 14, 1925 in Hamilton County.

In that book it says: "Others [Spradlins] trace to John A. Spradlin, who was born in Scott County, Virginia, and early in life came to the Big Sandy where he died November 4, 1855. He had a son Solomon F. Spradlin who was born in Floyd County April 24, 1824. This Solomon F. Spradlin was the father of John M. Spradlin who was born in Floyd County August 22, 1852.

There are two transcripts of a marriage record for Susan Fairchild and Solomon Spradlin. One says that the were married October 16, 1851 in Johnson County, and that other says that they were born November 22, 1851 in Johnson County.

SPRADLIN, was born August 22, 1852 in Floyd County, Kentucky, died March 23, 1935 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky. He married (1) JOANNA EASTERLING, daughter of WALTER C. EASTERLING and ELIZA J. DOWNING, about 1877. She was born in February of 1851 in Kentucky, and died before 1907. He married (2) ANGELINE PRICE, daughter of JEFF PRICE and SUSAN WARD, about 1907. She was born November 14, 1864 in Kentucky, died February 12, 1923 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Bridgeford Cemetery in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky. He married (3) SPICY S. HOWELL about 1925. She was born about 1865 in Kentucky, and died before 1935.

     "Solomon F. Spradlin was the father of John M. Spradlin who was born in Floyd County August 22, 1852. 'Squire' Spradlin as he is familiarly known, moved with his father's family to Morgan County in 1857. In 1893 he came to Johnson County where he has since resided. He was a teacher for fourteen years, was a justice of the peace for twelve years, was deputy clerk of the Johnson County Court for three years, and clerk of the Johnson Quarterly Court for five years.
     "John M. Spradlin and wife have the following children; Eliza S., born December 23, 1877, married Henry Sherman; Walter S., born October 27, 1879, and now resides at Paintsville; George D., born May 29, 1884, now deceased; Amanda E., born October 30, 1887, married a McCansland; and Dennis H., born July 12, 1891.
     "Henry Sherman is deceased. He and Eliza S. had a daughter Marie. Walter S. has one daughter. Amanda E. is a woman of jovial disposition."

Joanna Easterling was the sister of Mary E. Easterling and Cynthia Ann Easterling (who married John Spradlin's brother, George). Their mother's maiden name was determined by finding the birth records of 3 of her children. Nancy Easterling was born January 21, 1853 in Licking, Morgan County, to Walter C. Easterling and Eliza J. Downing, Cyntha Ann Easterling was born January 13, 1855 in Licking River, Morgan County, to W. C. Easterling and Eliza J. Downing, and William T. Easterling was born January 24, 1857 in Licking, Morgan County, to Walters [sic] C. Easterling and Eliza J. Downing.

According to Kentucky birth records, John Merrett Spradlin was born August 22, 1852 in Floyd County to Solomon Spradlin and Susan Farchild.

According to his death certificate, John M. Spradlin died March 23, 1935 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, from influenza, chronic bronchitis (40 years), and myocarditis. Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Kentucky, his birth date as August 22, 1852, his marital status as widowed, his wife as Spicy Howell, his occupation as attorney-at-law, his parents as Solomon Spradlin (b. Kentucky) and Susan Fairchild (b. Kentucky), the informant as Walter Spradlin of Paintsville, and the burial place as Paintsville.

Carbon Coal Company in Carbon, West Virginia, that he was married, that he had "One eye out," and that he was born July 12, 1891 in Bloomington, Kentucky. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had blue eyes and brown hair.

She married HENRY B. SHERMAN, son of BURGESS "BIRD" SHERMAN and MARTHA "MATTIE" CASSIDY, September 30, 1900 in Johnson County, Kentucky. He was born about 1869 in Kentucky, died August 20, 1914 in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, and is buried in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky.

According to her death certificate, there was a female who was stillborn on January 27, 1911 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, to Henry Sherman (b. Johnson County) and Eliza Spradlin (b. Johnson County). The informant was Henry Sherman of Paintsville, and the burial place was Stafford Graveyard.

According to her obituary, Eliza Spradlin Sherman (age 91), daughter of the late John M. (Squire) and Joanne Easterling Spradlin, was a resident of Paintsville most of her life, but had been living for a number of years with her daughter, Mrs. Marie Daugherty, in Catlettsburg. She was born December 23, 1877 in Morgan County, died January 9, 1968 in an Ashland hospital, and was buried in East Ashland Memorial Gardens. In addition to her daughter, she was survived by 1 brother, Walter F. Spradlin (of Paintsville); and 1 niece, Irene S. Cole. ANN LEMASTER, daughter of WILLIAM RICHARD LEMASTER and ELIZA B. WILLIAMS, September 9, 1880 in Morgan County, Kentucky. She was born May 27, 1966 in Kentucky, died January 15, 1933 in Wayland, Floyd County, Kentucky, and is buried in Estill, Floyd County, Kentucky.

Notes: According to Kentucky birth records, Matilda Lemasters was born August 1, 1855 in Morgan County to Wm. R. Lemasters and Eliza Williams.

According to Kentucky birth records, David M. Lemaster was born December 20, 1857 in Morgan County to William R. Lemaster and Alcy Williams.
