"Services were held at the Third Street Free will Baptist Church for L. V. (Booter) Bradley, 52 who died Saturday September 8 after suffering an apparent heart attack. An avid sports fan and a champion bowler, Mr. Bradley was preparing to play in all local golf tournament when he bacame ill and was taken to Paintsville Hospital. He was sucumbed shortley after arriving at the hospital. He was the general manager of Frank Montgomery's scrap and construction operations in Paintsville. The Paintsville resident was born to the late Lewis and Almeda Ann Shepherd Bradley of Johnson County. His wife, Dena Jayne survives him. Bradley was a member of several civil organizations, including Masonic Lodge 381 F & AM Royal Arch Masons 131 R & Am, Knights Templar 48 KT and Eastern Star 320 O.E.S. Schell of Flint Mich. The Reverends C. C. Hall and Scott Castle presided at the services. Burial was in the Keaton Cemetery, under the direction of the of the Jones Preston Funeral Home.

Also listed are Ina (wife, born in Kentucky, 4th grade education, age 34), Dosha (daughter, born in Kentucky, age 15), Robert (son, born in Ohio, age 12), Charley J. (son, born in Ohio, age 7), Evalene (daughter, born in Ohio, age 5), Goble Brown (nephew, married, laborer for the railroad, born in Kentucky, he's living in the same place that he was in 1935, 1 year of high school, age 21), Emma Brown (niece, married, born in Kentucky, she's living in the same place that she was in 1935, 1 year of high school, age 23), and Parthene Jenkins (mother-in-law, widowed, born in Kentucky, she's living in the same place that she was in 1935, no formal education, age 67).

      According to Social Security applications and claims indexes, Dacie Irene Phipps Burris was born January 24, 1925 in Salyersville, Magoffin County, Kentucky, and died April 26, 1996. Her name was listed as Dacie Irean Phipps in January of 1943, as Irene Burris in March of 1953, and her parents are listed as Dorsey Phipps and Ina Jenkins.
      According to Ohio death record transcripts, Dosha Irene Phipps Burris was born January 29, 1925 in Kentucky, and died April 26, 1996 in an out-of-state hospital at the age of 71. Her father's surname is listed as Phipps, and she was widowed at the time of her death.

      Notes: According to his obituary found online, Charles Junior Phipps (age 76), son of the late Dorsey and Ina Jenkins Phipps, was a retired meat cutter, a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was a resident of Lucasville, Ohio. He was born September 26, 1932 in Chillicothe, died December 24, 2008 in Regency Hospital in Columbus, and was buried in Lucasville Cemetery. In addtion to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Helton, September 6, 2000; and 1 step-daughter, Janie Brewer. He was survived by 1 step-son, Charles "Chuck" Wills (of Lucasville); 2 brothers, Garold Phipps (Westerville) and Harold Phipps (Circleville); 1 sister, Evaline Guckenberger (Springfield, Tennessee); and several step-grand and step-great-grandchildren.
