In addtion to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Helton, September 6, 2000; and 1 step-daughter, Janie Brewer. He was survived by 1 step-son, Charles "Chuck" Wills (of Lucasville); 2 brothers, Garold Phipps (Westerville) and Harold Phipps (Circleville); 1 sister, Evaline Guckenberger (Springfield, Tennessee); and several step-grand and step-great-grandchildren.
