He married (1) BECCA WRIGHT on January 17, 1919 in Morgan County, Kentucky. He married (2) FLORENCE COTTLE, daughter of JOHN L. COTTLE and MARY A. "MOLLIE" GORDON, about 1929. She was born October 8, 1889 in Kentucky, died March 9, 1971 in Rowan County, Kentucky, and is buried in Cottle Cemetery in West Liberty, Morgan County, Kentucky.

Notes: Florence Cottle was the sister of Dewey Cottle.

Becca Wright could have been Martha Rebecca "Rebecca" Wright, the daughter of Brice M. Wright and Ollie Minerva Salyer Wright. Her brother, Hardin, married Thurman's sister, Mollie. Rebecca Wright married a man by the name of Dock Toler, possibly her 2nd marriage. According to her obituary found on findagrave.com, Martha Rebecca Wright (age 100), daughter of the late Brice M. and Ollie Minverva Wright, was a resident of Ridgeway Nursing Home [Owingsville, Bath County, Kentucky] at the time of her death. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dock Burgess Toler, in 1977; and 4 sons, Raymond Toler, Earnest Toler, Walter Toler, and Ronald Franklin Toler. She was survived by 1 son, Charles Toler (of Pennsylvania); and 4 daughters, Betty J. Station (Bath County), Ethel Elkins (Bath County), Elsie Fraley (Scott County), and Joyce Plummer (Indiana).

When Thurman Cantrell's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in West Liberty, Morgan County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer working for Ben Cantrell in Morgan County, that he was single, that his closest relative was his father, and that he was born March 10, 1895 in Kentucky. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had black eyes and black hair.

She married HENRY POWELL HARDIN "HARDIN" WRIGHT, son of BRICE M. WRIGHT and OLLIE MINERVA SALYER, March 7, 1919 in Morgan County, Kentucky. He was born June 22, 1899 in Kentucky, died June 15, 1981 in Montgomery County, Kentucky, and is buried in Slaty Point Cemetery in Rowan County, Kentucky.

Notes: Hardin Wright was the brother of Shanklin Wright. He was also possibly the brother of Becca Wright, who married Mollie's brother, Thurman.
