Montgomery was a homemaker, age 89, born in Magoffin County, Kentucky, to David C. Howard and Druzella Montgomery. She is survived by four sons, Ossie Montgomery of Mansfield, Orbin Montgomery of Largo, Florida; Corbin and Skid Montgomery of Idaho; four daughters, Drusie Montgomery and Flossie Montgomery of Idaho, Verla Snyder and Vertie Howard of Waverly; 41 grandchildren, and a host of great and great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Greenville Montgomery who died March 8, 1986, one son, two daughters, five sisters and four brothers. Funeral services will be held at the Morganfork United Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with Brothers Sherman Tackett and Arvil Murray Jr., officiating. Born May 12, 1890, Magoffin County, Ky., she is the daughter of Monroe and Lythia Phipps Tackett and surviving are husband, Willard, at home whom she married Nov. 7, 1907. Also surviving are six sons, Fred, Route 1, Waverly; Dock and Ted, both of Route 1, Piketon; Ed of Waverly and William, Route 2, Beaver; and Edgar of Route 1, Lucasville. Three daughters, Mrs. Cass (Stella) Russell and Mrs. Mellie Tackett both of Route 4, Waverly, and Mrs. Nellie Montgomery of Lucasville; 53 grandchildren and 63 great grandchildren and two half sisters, Mrs. Lonzie (Pearlie) Howard and Mrs. Thurman (Mae) Caudill both of Salyersville, Ky. She was a member of the Givens United Baptist Church where sevices will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday with Brothers Millard Caudill and Corbet Jenkins and Millard Preston officiating. "Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie M. Tackett, 68, of Rt. 5, Lucasville, were held at the Big Run United Baptist Church, at 2 p.m. Sunday, with Bros. Corbett Jenkins and Ralph Phipps officiating. Burial followed in Gardner Cemetery, near Morgantown, under the direction of the Boyer Funeral Home of Waverly. Friends called at the Tackett residence after 2 p.m. Saturday. Mrs. Tackett died at 8:17 p.m. Thursday in Ross County Medical Center Hospital, following a four year illness. Born on July 28, 1906 in Magoffin Co., Ky., she was the daughter of Steven and Rosalie (Tackett) Caudill. Both parents, one son, two sisters, and five brothers predeceased her. On Dec. 28, 1920 she married Roscoe Tackett who survives at home; two sons; six daughters; 61 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers; and three sisters. Mrs. Tackett was a member of the Big Run United Baptist Church."

He was found to be of medium height and stout build, and he had brown eyes, light red hair, and had one finger missing on his right hand.

When Lonie Montgomery's World War II draft registration card was filled out on April 27, 1942 in Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky, he stated that He was working and living in Ashland, that the person who would always know his address was Martha Russell of the same address in Ashland, and that he was born January 10, 1890 in Magoffin County, Kentucky. He was found to be 5 feet 6 inches tall, he weighed 135 pounds, and he had brown eyes, gray hair, a light complexion, and he had the "Middle finger off on Right hand."
