She married JOHN WESLEY "WES" MUSIC, son of JAMES MUSIC and ELLEN BALDRIDGE, about 1907. He was born September 21, 1882 in Floyd County, Kentucky, died November 18, 1949 in Bonanza, Floyd County, Kentucky, and is buried in the family cemetery in Bonanza, Floyd County, Kentucky.

Notes: John Wesley Music was the brother of Henry Music.

When John Wesley Music's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Prestonsburg, Floyd County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer in Bonanza, Floyd County, that his closest relative was Mahala Music of Bonanza, and that he was born September 21, 1882. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had blue eyes and light brown hair.

According to Social Security death record transcripts, Mahala Music was born February 27, 1891, and died in October of 1973. She received her Social Security card in 1966 in Indiana, and her last place of residence was in Noblesville, Hamilton County, Indiana.

He married (2) CAROLINE "CARRIE" HACKWORTH, daughter of GEORGE JEREMIAH "JERRY" HACKWORTH and AGNESS E. POE, July 25, 1888. She was born in June of 1865 in Kentucky, and died before 1910. He married (3) MARTHA M. PELFREY, daughter of WILLIAM PELFREY and SABRINA BARNETT, October 7, 1910 in Rowan County, Kentucky. She was born December 24, 1866 in Kentucky, died May 15, 1947 in Morehead, Rowan County, Kentucky, and is buried in Dawson Cemetery in Rowan Conty, Kentucky.

Thomas Blair May's brother, Samuel, married Carrie Hackworth's sister, Violet. Carrie was also the sister of Henry W. Hackworth, Elizabeth Hackworth, Mary L. "Polly" Hackworth, and Kenis Franklin Hackworth.

Thomas Blair's 3rd wife, Martha Pelfrey Messer Johnson May, was the widowed mother-in-law of Thomas' daughter, Lana, and also the widowed mother of his son, Henry. Lana's husband, James Allen Messer was the child of Martha and her 1st husband, Alex Messer, and Henry's wife, Jessie, was the daughter of Martha and her 2nd husband, Henry Gardner Johnson.

On their son Farmer's birth record it says that Margaret Hall was born in Ashe County, North Carolina.

Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of his headstone shows that T. B. May lived from July 5, 1854 to October 27, 1925, and was buried in Hayes Cemetery in Hayes Crossing, Rowan County, Kentucky.

According to her death certificate, Martha Pelfrey May died May 15, 1947 in Morehead, Rowan County, Kentucky, from arteriosclerotic heart disease and senility. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Kentucky, her birth date as December 24, 1866, her marital status as widowed, her husband as Thomas B. May, her parents as William Pelfrey (b. Kentucky) and Sabrina Barnett (b. Kentucky), the informant as John B. Messer of Morehead, and the burial place as Dawson Cemetery in Rowan County. Either Martha's name was originally listed as Martha Messer and the "Messer" was crossed out and May written in. Or it was written Martha Messer May and the Messer was then crossed out.

The fact that Albert Phipps is listed as a widower on his death certificate is the only proof that Ethel May died about 1940.

He was found to be 5 feet 9 inches tall, he weighed 165 pounds, and he had blue eyes, gray hair, and a light complexion.

A city directory for Charleston, West Virginia, in 1942, shows that Jas G. and Ella M. Stamper were living on 1017A Piedmont road in Kanawha Valley.

Also listed are O'Dell (wife, born in Kentucky, she was living in Morehead in 1935, 5th grade education, age 23), and James W. (son, born in Kentucky, age 1).

ANNA L. STAMPER, daughter of LYDIA ROSALINE "ROSE" MAY and JAMES A. GARFIELD STAMPER, was born May 18, 1909 in Kentucky, died September 15, 1988 in Morehead, Rowan County, Kentucky, and is buried in Johnson Black Cemetery in Sharkey, Rowan County, Kentucky. She married DAVID A. BLACK, son of JOHNSON BLACK and ALVIRA HALL, about 1927. He was born November 12, 1901 in Kentucky, died November 4, 1976 in Morehead, Rowan County, Kentucky, and is buried in Johnson Black Cemetery in Sharkey, Rowan County, Kentucky.

Notes: According to her death certificate, Alvira Hall Black died May 3, 1952 in Sharkey, Rowan County, Kentucky, from a coronary occlusion. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Kentucky, her birth date as April 24, 1872, her marital status as widowed, her parents as Miligan Hall and Jane Short, the informant as Henry Black, and the burial place as Black Cemetery in Sharkey, Kentucky.

According to Kentucky birth record transcripts, Wilbert Black was born September 29, 1911 in Rowan County to Alvira Hall.

Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of their headstone shows that Anna Black lived from May 18 [the year is blocked by flowers] to September 15 [the year is also blocked], and was buried in Johnson Black Cemetery in Sharkey, Rowan County, Kentucky, and that David A. Black lived from November 12, 1901 to November 4, 1976 and was buried in the same cemetery.

According to Social Security death record transcripts, A. L. Black was born May 18, 1909, and died in September of 1988. She received her Social Security card prior to 1951 in Indiana, and her last place of residence was in Morehead, Rowan County, Kentucky.

According to Kentucky death record transcripts, Anna L. Black died September 15, 1988 in Rowan County at the age of 79. She was living in Rowan County at the time of her death.

According to Social Security death record transcripts, David Black was born November 12, 1901, and died in November of 1976. He received his Social Security card prior to 1951 in North Carolina or West Virginia, and his last place of residence was in Morehead, Rowan County, Kentucky.

According to Kentucky death record transcripts, David A. Black died November 4, 1976 in Rowan County at the age of 74. He was living in Rowan County at the time of his death.

On page 39 of the 1910 census for District 152 (Morehead) in Rowan County, Kentucky (dated May 16, 1910), Johnson Black is listed as the head of the household for house #349, he's a farmer, born in Kentucky, parents born in Virginia, 1st marriage, married for 23 years, and he's 44 years old. Also listed are Alvory (wife, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, 1st marriage, she's given birth to 11 children and 8 are still living, age 37), Henry (son, born in Kentucky, age 17), John M.
