Notes: When Lonnie Blair's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1918 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was working for Paris Pelphrey in Denver, Kentucky, that his closest relative was German Blair of Denver, that he was born June 28, 1897 in Johnson County, and that his father was born in Johnson County.      "Earl Blair, age 46, of East Point took his own life by firing a bullet through his brain. The tragedy took place near his home near the hour of midnight Friday, January 17, 1941. Two other men were witnesses to the tragedy. Dr. C. E. Johnson conducted an inquest and the Coroner’s jury returned a verdict of death by self-inflicted wounds. Mr. Blair was a prominent ranlroad (railroad) man and had many friends along the Big Sandy Division of the C & O and his untimely death has brought sorrow to many. The cause of the rash act is attributed to ill health. Mr. Blair was an ex-service man and was with the American Expeditionary forces in France. During his stay in France he participated in a number of battles and was badly shell shocked and gassed and this is believed to have caused Mr. Blair to have designs on his own life. Mr. Blair had no children. Besides his widow, Mrs. Glady (Greer) Blair, he is survived by the following brothers and sisters. Chas Blair, Jenkins, Ky.; Watt Blair, Frank Blair, Mrs. Seldon Smith and Mrs. Fronza McCloud, of West Van Lear; Mrs. Lon Rice, Collista and Mrs. Luther Fitch, of Hager Hill. He is also survived by a large number of other relatives throughout Johnson County. Mr. Blair had spent the greater part of his life in and around East Point. Funeral services were held at the home at 1:30 Sunday afternoon, January 19, 1941, in charge of Rev. Prentis Spear, pastor of the East Point Methodist Church. Burial was made in the family cemetery near the home. The undertaking department of the Paintsville Furniture Company. The American Legion of which Mr. Blair was a member, conducted the impressive Legion services at the grave." Funeral services were held at the home on Sunday by Rev. Ed Preston, and burial was made in the family cemetery under the direction of the undertaking department of the Paintsville Furniture Co."

Paris L. Trimble was ordered to report for active duty on September 19, 1917 and reported that day. A U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs record transcript shows that he was born April 27, 1891 and died September 11. 1973. He enlisted on September 19, 1917, and discharged on December 7, 1919.

According to his obituary, Paris L. Trimble (age 83), son of the late Willie and Sola Conley Trimble, was a retired carpenter, a World War I veteran, and a resident of Barnetts Creek, Kentucky. He was born April 27, 1890, died September 11, 1973 in a local Johnson County hospital, and was buried in the family cemetery in Barnetts Creek. He was survived by his wife, Clinda [sic] Fannin Trimble; 2 sons, Chester Trimble (of Sarasota, Florida) and William Trimble (Springfield, Ohio); 1 foster son, James C. He was born July 22, 1898 in Kentucky, died June 24, 1974 in Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in John Clint Conley Cemetery in Jennies Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky.

Notes: When Dewey Rice's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer working for Charley Rice in Hager Hill, Johnson County, that his closest relative was Charley Rice, and that he was born July 22, 1898. According to her obituary, Ollie Conley Rice (age 88), daughter of John Clinton and Helen Johnson Conley, was born November 19, 1902 in Johnson County, died in October of 1991, and was buried in John Clint Conley Family Cemetery on Little Lick Fork in East Point. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Rice in 1973. John Reed married (1) LEVINA PRESTON, daughter of GREENVILLE PRESTON and EXIER WARD, July 19, 1874 in Johnson County, Kentucky. She was born about 1842 and died in 1880. Levina Preston married (1) DANIEL PELPHREY, son of WILLIAM PELPHREY and MARY LEMASTER, August 29, 1861 in Johnson County, Kentucky. He was born about 1842 in Kentucky, and died about 1869.

MILLARD FAIRCHILD, son of SARAH RATLIFF and ASA J. FAIRCHILD, was born October 23, 1873 in Kentucky, and died May 26, 1954 in Johnson County, Kentucky. He married MARY ELLEN JOHNSON, daughter of RICHARD EPPERSON JOHNSON and NANCY ANN JOHNSON. She was born October 24, 1879 in Kentucky, died August 12, 1953 in Denver, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in the family cemetery in Staffordsville, Johnson County, Kentucky.

Notes: Millard Fairchild's brother, Enoch, married Mary Ellen Johnson's half-sister, Samantha.

Richard Epperson Johnson's name is listed as Epperson Johnson in his daughter Mary's death certificate, as Epperson Johnson in her obituary, and as Richard E. Johnson in his daughter Samantha Johnson Fairchild's obituary (1883-1965).

When Millard Farchilds' World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer in Paintsville, that his closest relative was Ellen Farchilds of Paintsville, and that he was born October 23, 1873. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had blue eyes and dark brown hair.

According to Kentucky death record transcripts, Millard Fairchild died May 26, 1954 in Johnson County at the age of 80.

According to her death certificate, Mary Ellen Johnson Fairchild died August 12, 1953 at home in Denver from a cerebral hemorrhage due to high blood pressure. Her birthplace is listed as Kentucky, her birth date as October 24, 1879, her marital status as married, her father's name as Epperson Johnson, her mother's maiden name as Nancy Ann Johnson, the informant as Fannie Lemaster, and the burial place as the family cemetery in Staffordsville.

According to her obituary, Mary Ellen Johnson (age 73), daughter of Epp and Nancy Ann Johnson of Johnson County, was born October 24, 1879, died suddenly at home in Denver on August 12, 1953, and was buried in the family cemetery. She was survived by her husband, Millard Fairchild; 2 sons, Ray Fairchild (of Denver, Kentucky) and Roy Fairchild (Columbus, Ohio); 5 daughters, Mrs. Edith Skinner (Columbus), Mrs. Bessie Gleeson (Chillicothe, Ohio), Mrs. Frankie Fairchild (Staffordsville), Mrs. Fannie Lemaster (Columbus), and Mrs. Venice Estep (Grover City, Ohio); and 2 sisters, Mrs. Samantha Fairchild (Staffordsville) and Mrs. Amanda Bayes (Lackey, Kentucky). Also listed are Ellen (wife, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, 1st marriage, she's given birth to 5 children and 3 are still living, age 25), Eva (daughter, born in Kentucky, age 9), Leona (daughter, born in Kentucky, age 6), and Ray (son, born in Kentucky, age 2 years 4 months).

On page 8 of the 1930 census for District 58-7 (Magisterial District No. 3) in Johnson County, Kentucky (dated April 8, 1930), Millard Fairchild is listed as the head of the household for house #69, he's a farmer, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, first married at age 25, and he's 57 years old. Also listed are Ellen (wife, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, first married at 18, age 49), Eva (daughter, single, not working, born in Kentucky, age 29), Bessie (daughter, born in Kentucky, age 17), Roy (son, born in Kentucky, age 14), Venus (daughter, born in Kentucky, age 11), Anna E. (daughter, born in Kentucky, age 8), and Frankie (daughter, born in Kentucky, age 6).

      According to her death certificate, Eva Fairchild died November 27, 1949 at home in rural Staffordsville, where she had lived her entire life, from cancer of the right breast. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Johnson County, her birth date as 1900, her marital status as single, her parents as Millard Fairchild and Ellen Johnson, the informant as Fannie Lemaster, and the burial place as the family cemetery in Staffordsville.
      According to Kentucky death record transcripts, Eva Fairchild died November 27, 1949 in Johnson County at the age of 49.

He was born November 24, 1907 in Johnson County, died August 30, 1981 in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, and was buried in the family cemetery in Barnetts Creek. He was survived by his wife, Della Centers Fairchild; 2 sons, Curtis Willard Fairchild (of Columbus, Ohio) and Thomas Millard Fairchild (Greenup); 10 daughters, Margaret Rhoden (Columbus), Evelyn Musser (Columbus), Fannie Collins (Greenup), Charlotte (Paul) Hall (Greenup), Laverne Horne (Prestonsburg), Venice Hannah (Staffordsville), Dixie Hannah (Staffordsville), Brenda Hitchcock (River, Kentucky), and Wanda Collins (Barnetts Creek); 1 brother, Roy Fairchild (McArthur, Ohio); 5 sisters, Fannie Lemaster (Columbus), Venice Estep (Columbus), Edith Skinner (Columbus), Bessie Gleason (Columbus), and Frankie Fairchild (Barnetts Creek); 34 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
