JESSIE CONLEY, daughter of JOHN H. CONLEY and LOUISA ELIZABETH "ELIZA" WHITT, was born July 18, 1901 in Kentucky. She married DEWEY WITTEN CONLEY, son of HAMILTON CONLEY and LOUISE PERLINA ADAMS, December 2, 1922. He was born August 3, 1900 in Kentucky, and died April 1, 1972 in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.

Dewey Conley's 2nd wife was reportedly a lady by the name of Maude. According to Ohio death record transcripts, there was a Maude G. Conley who was born about 1901, and died May 13, 1961 in Southern Ohio Medical Center Mercy in Portsmouth, Scioto County, at the age of 60. She was living in Portsmouth and married at the time of her death.

When Dewey Witten Conley's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer working for Ham Conley in Salyersville, Kentucky, that his closest relative was Ham Conley, and that he was born August 3, 1900. He was found to be short, of medium build, and he had black eyes and black hair.

According to Ohio death records, there was a Jessie Conley who died March 26, 1941 in Portsmouth, Scioto County.

According to Social Security death record transcripts, Dewey Conley was born August 3, 1900, and died in April of 1972. He received his Social Security card prior to 1951 from the Railroad Board, and his last place of residence was in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.

According to Ohio death record transcripts, Dewey W. Conley died April 1, 1972 in Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Scioto County, at the age of 71. He was married at the time of his death.

She married HENRY L. LEMASTER, son of BENJAMIN FRANKLIN LEMASTER and PAULINA HOWARD, October 23, 1909. He was born September 6, 1886, in Falcon, Magoffin County, Kentucky, died November 18, 1952 in Falcon, Magoffin County, Kentucky, and is buried in Adams Cemetery in Falcon, Magoffin County, Kentucky.

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Henry Lemaster married Nora Prater on October 23, 1909 in Magoffin County at the home of John Prater. The witnesses were Allen Jackson and Z. F. Prater, and the minister was J. J. Prater.

When Henry Lemaster's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer in Falcon, Kentucky, that he was married and had 2 children, and that he was born August 5, 1886 in Falcon, Kentucky. He was found to be tall, of medium build, and he had brown eyes, black hair, and a stiff knee and ankle.

According to her death certificate, Nora Prater Lemaster died suddenly on April 30, 1952 in Falcon from a cerebral hemorrhage. According to his death certificate, Henry Lemaster died November 18, 1952 in Falcon, Magoffin County, Kentucky, from arteriosclerosis due to an old cerebral accident with bronchial pneumonia as another significant condition. Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Magoffin County, his birth date as September 6, 1886, his marital status as widowed, his parents as Ben Lemaster and Plyna Howard, the informant as Christal Conley, and the burial place as Adams Cemetery in Falcon, Kentucky.

JAMES MCMILLAN, son of ELIZABETH CONLEY and ROBERT PEYTON MCMILLAN, was born July 4, 1876 in Morgan County, Kentucky, and died September 2, 1949 in Marceline, Chariton County, Missouri. He married MYRTLE LEORA TAYLOR, daughter of ABRAHAM LINCOLN TAYLOR and MARY MATILDA MATHEWS, January 2, 1901. She was born December 21, 1884 in Browning, Linn County, Missouri, and died March 5, 1964.

Notes: According to their granddaughter, Louise McMillan Aldrich, James came to Missouri as a small baby, settled in Browning, Missouri for a while, and then moved to Marceline, Missouri. He was a coal miner and a farmer. James and Leora bought a farm southeast of Marceline in the early 1920's, where he died in 1949 from the effects of the coal mine. His birthday was on the 4th of July and they always had a gathering and James always tried to have plenty of hand-picked blackberries on hand for fresh blackberry pies.

There he and his wife died, and they are buried on the farm. He died of cancer of the lower lip. I have seen him often. His son, Hendrix, lived on the home farm; he married Margaret Williams. One of the daughters married Joseph Stapleton, and another, Christiana, married John Williams, Esq., and their son, Powell Williams is a prominent citizen of Johnson County."

She was born about 1815 in Kentucky, and died after 1880. He married (2) NANCY FUGATE. She was born about 1825 in Kentucky. Betsy Williams married (2) CHARLES STAPLETON. He was born about 1810 in Virginia, and died after 1870.

According to that book, Henderson Salyer was born September 30, 1822 in Flat Gap, Johnson County, and married Nancy Williams on September 17, 1849. who was born in 1825. Their children were Luana (b. 1847), Joseph (b. 1849), James (b. 1855), Greenville (b. 1857), Mary (b. 1860), Jefferson (b. 1863), and William (b. 1867).

According to Joseph Eugene Conley, William Henderson Salyer, son of Benjamin and Frances Conley Salyer, was born September 30, 1822 in Flat Gap, and married (1) Elizabeth Williams, daughter of John M. Williams, on December 8, 1843 in Johnson County. She was born in 1815 and died about 1846. Henderson then married Nancy Fuget in 1846. She was born in 1825. Joe also says that William and Elizabeth Williams Salyer had 3 children; Nancy Jane Salyer (b. 1844), Francis "Franky" Ellen Salyer (b. 1845), and Thomas Salyer (b. 1846), and that William [Henderson] and Nancy Fuget Salyer had 8 children; Luana (b. 1847), Joseph F. (b. 1848), Rebecca (b. 1851), Sarah Ellen (b. 1852), James A. (b. 1854), Granville (b. 1857), Mary Ann (b. 1859), and Jefferson D. (b. 1861).

The census reports show that the birth dates from Elizabeth Williams Salyer's children, and those of Nancy Fugate Salyer overlap. And the census reports also show that Henderson Salyer consistently claims to having been born in 1825 in Virginia, as opposed to 1822 in Kentucky. The children of Henderson Salyer and Betsy Williams consistently say, in the census reports, that their father was born in Kentucky. Henderson and Nancy Fugate Salyer are living next to Betsy Williams and her 2nd husband in 1860, 1870, & 1880.

Notes: According to his death certificate, John Kelley Frazier died July 11, 1912 in Flat Gap, Johnson County, Kentucky, from paralysis. She was born in October of 1861 in Johnson County, Kentucky, died April 18, 1944 in Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Elna, Johnson County, Kentucky.

Notes: Melissa McKenzie's brother, Theodore, married Thomas' sister, Malissa. Their brother, Aaron, married Eady Stapleton.

Oma Burchett was the sister of David Burchett.
