As a result - and because Russell was reportedly her father - her name has also been seen as Malvania Arnett. All of the evidence to support this follows.

On findagrave.com, there is a paragraph that says "Melvina was born in Kentucky the daughter of Russell Arnett and Rhoda Howard. On October 7, 1874 she married Christopher 'Christy' Gullett. According to her obituary, Manda Hill Gullett (age 53), daughter of Joe and Lina Hill, had been a resident of Mine Fork, Kentucky, for 30 years prior to her death. She was born in Relief, Kentucky, died suddenly at home from a heart attack on May 31, 1952, and was buried in Jellico Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Gullett, in 1937. She was survived by 4 sons, Burl Gullett (of Ashland, Kentucky), Roy Gullett (Fairborn, Ohio), Joe Gullett (Fort Campbell, Kentucky), and Hade Gullett (Fort Knox, Kentucky); 3 daughters, Ethel Williams (Win, Kentucky), Belvis Wright (Silverhill, Kentucky), and Tennie Gullett (Mine Fork, Kentucky), 3 brothers, Billy Hill (Ashland), Eddie Hill (Relief), and Jesse Hill (Ashland); and 1 sister, Maggie Cantrell (Ashland).
