Notes: Her obituary, found online: "Patricia M. Anderson April 10, 1930 - June 16, 2012 Resident of San Pablo Our little princess, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and sister-in-law, mentor and true friend to all, took her last breath on earth and first breath in heaven on Saturday June 16, 2012. She is now in the arms of Jesus whom she accepted as her Lord and Savior as a little girl. She never lost sight of God's love-and reached her ultimate goal. Our family welcomes the peace of understanding God's purpose in our lives. (Matthew 6:33) Pat was born in Great Bend, Kansas on April 10, 1930 and was adopted at six weeks of age by Samuel Jess and Nellie Dove Ramsey who unconditionally loved and raised her to be the gracious person she was. They moved to Oakland, CA in 1944 to work jobs that supported the war efforts, and to give Pat a chance for a better life. Pat graduated from Oakland Tech High School in 1947. Then the family moved to Richmond, CA where they attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church. In November 1951 while working in the Wear-Ever Alcoa offices in Emeryville, CA a beautiful petite young girl accepted a date from a recently transferred handsome young salesman. A year later to the date, they united in marriage. Pat & Andy have been in love for 60 years. God is the core of their lives (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18). In 1956 Pat received her Private Secretarial Certificate from Berkeley's Armstrong Business College. She then went to work for 23 years as a Purchasing Agent for Bio-Rad Laboratories until her retirement September 2, 1994. She thought it was such a privilege to be part of Bio-Rad with endearing life-long friends. Pat sang in various Gospel groups in church and on radio. Doctors Hospital Pinole is where she volunteered as a gift shop manager after her retirement. Pat was also a member of the National Purchasing Agent Association. She held different offices in the Alpha Iota Business Sorority, making many life long friendships. While raising her three children, Pat volunteered in many activities being P.T.A. President for 2 years at Tara Hills Elementary School. Influencing her two sons toward earning their Eagle Scout Awards and her daughter in Campfire Girls and various positions in Rainbow girls were some of her proudest moments. One of her priorities was raising her children in God's love and Christian environments early on in their lives. They attended Central Assembly of God in El Sobrante, CA, and Hilltop Community Church in Richmond, CA One of great joys was serving as a greeter and being part of the Silver Liners senior's ministry at Hilltop. Pat and Andy loved exploring and travelling the world by cruise ships and car. Flying to Sweden to visit relatives was a blessing for both of them. Her last cruise was through the Panama Canal. As long as she was with the love of her life her world was complete. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Nellie Ramsey, her sister Judy, and brother Earl. Her memory lives on through her beloved husband Evert R. (Andy) Anderson, and her three children, Gregory N. Anderson (Karen), Jeffrey A. Anderson (Mary Beth), and Denise L. Bernardy (Danny). Grandchildren Shane M. Anderson (Anjeza), Staci M. Anderson (Keantay), Joseph R. Anderson (Emily), Nicole B. Anderson, Annie-Laurie M. Anderson, Audrey B. Anderson, Anika D. Anderson, Samantha L. Bernardy, and Kayla L. Bernardy. Great grandchildren, Zayden Anderson, Jordan Alfred, Tyler Alfred. Brother-in-law Ben Anderson (Catherine). Nephews John Anderson, Lee Tompkins, Ron Tompkins, and two nieces Melinda Williamson (Mike) and Linda Leaf (Robert). Special thanks to the phenomenal care giving angels, Gladys and Andrea, and hospice nurses Val and Monica. We will always remember your wisdom, compassion, and dedication to caring for our loved one. The family will forever be grateful. Visitation will be Thursday evening June 21st at Wilson & Kratzer-Chapel of the Missions Bells, 13644 San Pablo Ave. from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday June 22nd at the Hilltop Community Church 3118 Shane Drive, Richmond, CA (across from Hilltop Mall) at 10:30 a.m. with committal following at Rolling Hills Memorial Park, 4100 Hilltop Drive, El Sobrante, CA.
